Al-Muthanna University Takes Significant Steps Toward Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Partnership with UNESCO

Al-Muthanna University has secured a place in the 2026 Round University Ranking (RUR) Subject Rankings, published by Round University Ranking, which evaluates university performance across various academic and research fields and disciplines. The 2026 edition features 31 subject rankings distributed across six major academic fields: Humanities, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Technical Sciences. In addition, it includes 25 specialized subject rankings, providing more detailed indicators of universities’ academic and research performance in their respective fields. Al-Muthanna University’s presence in these rankings is part of its growing participation in international university rankings, reflecting its commitment to developing academic and research performance, enhancing the quality of education, and improving scientific output in line with the requirements of global evaluation systems. In this regard, the President of Al-Muthanna University, Professor Dr. Hussein Kamil Al-Shahir, stated that the university has developed a comprehensive academic plan aimed at advancing its academic and research performance, strengthening performance indicators across various fields, and monitoring the requirements of international rankings. These efforts seek to expand the university’s presence in international databases and evaluation systems.
For his part, the Director of the Quality Assurance Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Sadiq, stated that the university’s presence in the RUR rankings reflects its continuous academic and scientific efforts. He noted that the university follows a strategic vision focused on developing performance indicators, supporting research output, improving the quality of education, and keeping pace with the requirements of international rankings.
He added that the university’s academic plan is directly supervised by the university president, alongside ongoing cooperation between the Quality Assurance Department, colleges, and academic departments. This collaboration strengthens the university’s ability to improve its performance and maintain its presence in global rankings.
