The President of Al-Muthanna University, Professor Dr. Hussein Kamel Al-Shaher, completed the signing of nine memorandums of understanding to enhance scientific cooperation with Iranian universities.  The signing took place on the sidelines of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the holy province of Karbala. The President of the University signed memorandums with the universities of “Tehran,” “Tarbiat Modares,” “Ferdowsi Mashhad,” “Amir Kabir University of Technology,” “Shiraz University of Technology,” “Imam Reza,” “Lorestan,” “Ilam,” and “Khawarizmi.” The memorandums aimed to strengthen scientific exchange in various scientific and technological disciplines, organize joint training programs for students and faculty, exchange academic expertise in research fields, and enhance cooperation in modern technology and innovation. Additionally, the agreements focused on practical applications that contribute to the development of economic and scientific sectors and the establishment of scientific and technological parks at Iraqi universities.

The universities agreed to implement research projects, encourage cooperation in joint scientific supervision, update curricula, and exchange scholarships. The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ali Musa Rashid. It is worth noting that the President of Al-Muthanna University, Professor Dr. Hussein Kamel Al-Shaher, has launched a major plan to open up to prestigious academic institutions regionally and internationally, in a determined effort to elevate the scientific and administrative reality of the university.
